Product description
Housing
The housings for the TD-160 to TD-2000 N fans are made of plastic; the TD-4000 and TD-6000 models are made of galvanised sheet steel with an epoxy coating. The housing consists of a mounting rail with two connections and a motor, which is connected to the connections via quick-release clips. The design allows the motor section to be removed without the need to disconnect the ducting.
Impeller
The impellers of the TD-160 to TD-2000 N fans are made of plastic, whilst those of the TD-4000 and TD-6000 models are made of aluminium.
Motor
The AC motors in the TD-160 to TD-350 fans have dual windings, which allow for operation at two different speeds. The TD-500 to TD-2000 N fans have three windings. The TD-4000 and TD-6000 have a single winding and can be regulated by varying the voltage. The motors are fitted with a thermal fuse (TD 160–TD 350) or thermal protection (TD 500–TD 6000). The bearings are ball bearings with grease-filled for the entire service life. Insulation class B, protection rating IP44 (TD 160–2000 N), insulation class F, protection rating IP54 (TD 4000 and 6000). TD and TD-T fan motors are single-phase for 230 V, the TD 4000 TRIF are three-phase for 230/400 V, and the TD 6000 TRIF are three-phase for 400 V.
Terminal block
is located on the fan casing; in single-phase models, it contains a starting capacitor.
Speed control
For double-wound AC motors (TD 160–350), the speed is switched between two stages using REGUL 2 or COM 2 controllers, or by adjusting the voltage using REB (continuous control) or REV (five-stage control). For motors with triple windings (TD 500 – TD 2000 N), the speed is switched in three stages using COM 3 or INTER 4P controllers, or speed control can be achieved by adjusting the voltage using REB controllers (continuous control) or REV controllers (five-stage control). The TD 4000 and 6000 can only be controlled by varying the voltage. The TD 4000 and 6000 TRIF can be controlled by varying the voltage or using frequency converters. The TD-T 160-350 cannot be controlled; the TD-T 500-800 3V can only be controlled using the INTER 4P speed selector switch.
Installation
The fans can be installed in any position. The casing must not transmit mechanical stress from the ductwork. It is recommended to use a flexible connection to the ductwork.
Variants
