Product description
Cabinet
The 45 mm thick wall panels are made from galvanised steel sheet with an external paint finish in RAL 9002. The panels are filled internally with acoustic and thermal insulation made from non-combustible glass mineral wool. To facilitate servicing, the unit cabinet is fitted with removable doors with locks. The unit frame is made from aluminium profiles, and the wall panels are bolted to the frame. The connection ports for the water heaters are located on the outer casing of the unit. The casing is fitted with 4 hangers with Ø 12 mm holes for ceiling-mounted installation of the unit.
Fans
The unit is fitted with a fan featuring backward-curved blades; the impeller is made of composite material. The impeller is statically and dynamically balanced.
Motors
An EC motor is mounted directly on the fan impeller. The fan motor can be continuously controlled via an external 0–10 V signal or PWM. The motor is fitted with its own built-in thermal protection. The electric motor has an IP44 protection rating.
Heaters
Water heaters are designed for a heating water temperature difference dT = 20 K (80/60 °C) for an inlet air temperature te = –12 °C/90 per cent relative humidity at the nominal air flow rate. Electric heaters are designed for an inlet air temperature of te = –12 °C/90% RH at the nominal air flow rate and are fitted with an operating and emergency thermostat.
Filters
The unit contains one or more F7-class filter elements (G4 to F9-class filters available on request), which are housed within a single filter panel. The filter is made from polypropylene filter material. Access to the filters is via an inspection door on the service side of the unit. In the case of multi-stage filtration, the unit can be fitted with MFL filter cartridges containing MFR filter inserts, which are designed for installation in ductwork.
Electrical connection
The supply voltage for the units is 1 × 230 V / 50 Hz or 3 × 400 V / 50 Hz, depending on the unit’s configuration. Supply cables, sensor cables and power cables for the fans are routed into the unit via plastic grommets in the unit’s wall, which are not included with the unit. The terminal block for the electric heater on RME units is accessible once the outer casing has been removed. The fan’s electric motor has its power supply cable routed to a plastic distribution box with a terminal block, which is located inside the unit.
Controls
The unit is supplied without controls as standard. Upon request, the unit can be fitted with Digireg® controls. If the unit is fitted with the MaR system directly at the factory, all sensors and actuators are electrically connected and tested. The control cabinet is mounted on the unit’s wall in accordance with the specific spatial requirements of the project (the location of the MaR system control cabinet must be specified in the order).
Installation
Installation is possible in a horizontal position with access from the side of the unit (designated by code H2) or from the bottom of the unit (designated by code H1). Furthermore, a distinction can be made between right-hand (P) and left-hand (L) versions depending on the position of the water heater outlets or the position of the electrical heater’s connection terminal block (for sizes 2400, 3000, 4000, 6000). The L or P orientation is determined when viewing the front intake surface of the heater in the direction of air flow. There must be sufficient working space next to the unit to remove the cover and filters, and to carry out periodic inspections of the electrical installation.
Noise
The figures given in the tables represent the sound power levels at the unit’s inlet and outlet, corrected by the A-weighting filter.
Variants
• RME with built-in electric heating and filter
• RMW with built-in water heating and filter
• RMK with filter but without heater (on request)
Information
The unit is designed for the ventilation of commercial premises. Installation of the unit outdoors must be discussed.
Warranty terms
Ekonovent® RME, RMW and RMK units, including the DVAV, DCAV and DCOP control systems, must be commissioned exclusively by the Seller or by a person designated by the Seller for this purpose. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the Buyer forfeiting their rights arising from defective performance and under the Quality Guarantee. Further conditions are set out in the Seller’s Complaints Procedure.
