Small local ventilation unit PULSE 160

PULSE 160 is a small ventilation unit with heat recovery from waste air, designed for economical ventilation of individual rooms. It is the ideal solution for easy replacement of non-functioning, previously installed fans without the need for additional construction modifications, wiring and provision of condensate drainage.

The unit is suitable for new buildings or reconstruction of older apartment buildings. In renovations, it serves as a replacement for existing negative pressure ventilation with fans for exhaust air. Thanks to the alternating operation and the accumulation of energy from the waste air in the regenerative ceramic heat exchanger, the heat loss caused by the cold fresh supply air when opening a window is significantly reduced. These losses would otherwise be covered by the heating system in the dwelling unit.

Description of the unit

The cabinet of the PULSE 160 unit is made of durable hardened plastic. The external subtle composite facade grille is white matt. The part of the unit containing the regenerative heat exchanger allows installation in a wall with a maximum thickness of 500 mm. The internal part of the unit is equipped with a design front cover with damping insulation and a manual control damper.

The unit operates as standard in alternating extract/supply mode with a maximum flow rate of 43 m3/h, with a flow direction change interval of 70 seconds.

Ventilator

The unit is equipped with a reversible axial fan with a 12 V DC motor and is designed for continuous operation. The main power supply of the unit is via the PULSE CONTROL PRO wall-mounted controller (230 V-12 V transformer is included in the controller delivery).

Recuperation

The unit is also equipped with a regenerative ceramic heat exchanger, where the average thermal efficiency is 81% (maximum up to 93%). Maintenance and servicing are easy, the heat exchanger is accessible by removing the inner part of the unit with the fan. A G3 class filter (ISO coarse 45%) is located on the outside of the ceramic heat exchanger and on the inside of the interior grille.

Regulation

The PULSE CONTROL PRO controller with integrated humidity sensor is not included as standard (accessory required) and allows control of up to 4 PULSE 160 units.

Standard features include 4 fan speed switching or the ability to set different operating modes:

- Eco - paired operation, where the units switch flow direction after 50-70 seconds depending on fan speed, heat recovery is ongoing
- Full-blast - operation in one flow direction only, Automatic mode - the fan speed is controlled automatically based on the humidity sensor integrated in the PULSE CONTROL PRO wall-mounted controller. This control ensures optimum air quality in the room
- Sleep Mode - the unit stops working for 1 hour to allow the occupants to fall asleep, after which time the system will resume the previously activated mode

Mounting

The unit can only be installed in the horizontal axis of the heat exchanger body with a minimum 1% inclination to the outside of the wall. The long connection extension (500 mm), which contains the ceramic heat exchanger, fan and filters, can be adapted to the wall thickness (min. 280 mm). The unique design of the unit ensures easy maintenance and cleaning. The PULSE 160 unit is suitable for use when replacing an existing fan without the need for extensive installation preparations.
