Equal pressure ventilation of classrooms with different ventilation of other areas

The central equal pressure system provides forced ventilation of the classrooms with heat recovery, while other areas of the school are ventilated by separate systems according to their operational requirements.

Main features of the system:

  • central air handling unit for classrooms and separate air handling unit for other areas
  • equal pressure ventilation of classrooms
  • heat recovery in classrooms (or other areas)
  • suitable for operationally structured school facilities or renovations

Basic elements of the system:

  • air handling units with ZZT
  • variable flow controllers
  • roof or ducted fans for ventilation of other parts of the building

In this system, the school facility is divided into classrooms and other areas. The classrooms have their own central air handling unit to which fresh air is supplied. In the air handling unit, heat energy is transferred from the exhaust air of the classrooms to the supply air through heat recovery. The treated air is then distributed to the individual classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with a variable flow controller that controls the amount of supply and extract air according to the current ventilation demand. Other rooms are ventilated by different principles using separate air handling units or fans. The system ensures a consistently stable indoor environmental quality and high user comfort in the classrooms and, thanks to partial heat recovery, contributes to a reduction in the operating costs of the building.
