Enclosure

is made from electro-galvanised steel sheet and is powder-coated in a grey-white colour scheme. The internal structure is made of high-quality EPP. On the top of the unit there are 4 outlets, the diameter of which depends on the unit’s capacity. The SABIK (E, RF) unit also has an outlet for fresh air discharge on the underside of the casing.

Fans

Radial fans with backward-curved blades are fitted at the discharge and intake.

Motors

Single-phase EC motors, 230 V / 50 Hz.

Heat recovery unit

The SABIK unit is fitted with a counter-flow heat exchanger with a heat recovery efficiency of up to 94 per cent. The E variant is fitted with a counter-flow enthalpy heat exchanger with a heat recovery efficiency of up to 86 per cent and a moisture recovery efficiency of up to 82 per cent. The heat exchanger is accessible by opening the front panel. The unit is fitted with a bypass for summer operation.

Filters

G4-class (ISO coarse 65 per cent) panel filters are fitted as standard on the fresh air intake and exhaust air outlets. An F7 filter (ISO ePM1 50 per cent) is available as an accessory for the fresh air intake.

Controls

The unit is fitted with a fully automatic control system which, in combination with four temperature and relative humidity sensors, ensures smooth speed control according to current requirements, without the need for any further intervention in the unit’s operation. The performance characteristics show curves for individual fan speeds (see the operating instructions for details). The stylish wired remote control allows manual switching between fan speeds, control of the bypass, activation of the intensive ventilation (boost) function, activation of automatic operation, night cooling and indication of filter blockage. In the RF version, the unit is fitted with a radio-frequency remote control, which allows manual adjustment of fan speeds and activation of automatic operation. Further unit settings are configured using DIP switches and potentiometers on the unit’s control electronics (after removing the front cover). The unit has four preset weekly programmes, one of which enables automatic operation based on a humidity sensor, a built-in VOC sensor (optional accessory) or a 0–10 V master analogue signal. SABIK units can be fitted with the SABIK-NEMBUS-SF built-in module, which ensures constant air flow control. The external SPCM Lite M module enables remote management via a mobile app or the Connectair web interface.

Electrical connection

The unit is designed for direct connection to a mains socket via a mains plug. The power supply is single-phase 230 V / 50 Hz.

Installation

The unit is designed for vertical wall mounting in indoor spaces with a minimum temperature of 12 °C (wall mounting brackets are included). An optional SABIK-WMC mounting bracket is available to ensure greater clearance from the wall. The unit must be installed in such a way as to ensure sufficient space for opening the unit cover, replacing filters, connecting the condensate drain (DN20) to the waste pipe with a siphon odour trap, and for carrying out periodic inspections of the electrical installation.

Instructions

The unit can be fitted with a built-in SABIK-PH pre-heater. If required, MBE-AFP duct heaters with a capacity appropriate to the air flow rate and the diameter of the connecting duct can be used to heat the supply air.

Information

A ventilation unit designed for flats or detached houses. It is characterised by minimal requirements for operation and maintenance, and very economical operation. A major advantage is the ease with which it can be switched between left- and right-hand configurations. All units in this range are certified under the ‘Passive House’ scheme.
