Main features:
- central AHU for classrooms and separate AHU (or different ventilation units) for other areas
- balanced ventilation of classrooms
- heat recovery in classrooms and/or other areas
- suitable for complex educational buildings or renovation projects
Basic elements of the system:
- AHUs with heat recovery
- VAV dampers
- roof or duct fans for other areas of the building
In this system, the educational building is divided into classrooms and other areas. Classrooms are served by a central air handling unit to which fresh air is supplied. Within the air handling unit, heat is transferred from the exhaust air of the classrooms to the supply air through heat recovery. The treated air is then distributed to individual classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with a VAV damper that controls airflow according to current demand. Other areas are ventilated by separate systems using dedicated air handling units or fans. The system ensures consistently stable indoor environmental quality and a high level of user comfort in classrooms and, thanks to partial heat recovery, helps reduce the building’s operating costs.
