A system with a central air handling unit and VAV dampers provides controlled ventilation of small-scale commercial buildings, allowing individual ventilation control for each area. Energy-efficient operation is ensured by heat recovery.

Main features:

  • central AHU for the entire building
  • balanced ventilation
  • heat recovery
  • suitable for commercial buildings with multiple areas

Basic system components:

  • central AHU with heat recovery
  • VAV dampers

In this system, a single central air handling unit is installed for the entire commercial building and supplies fresh air. Within the unit, heat is transferred from the exhaust air leaving the building to the incoming supply air through heat recovery. The treated air is then distributed throughout the building. Each area is equipped with a VAV damper that regulates the amount of supply and extract air according to the actual ventilation demand. This allows individual control of ventilation in different areas of the building. The system ensures consistently stable indoor environmental quality and a high level of user comfort. Thanks to heat recovery, it also helps reduce the building’s operating costs.
