Cabinet
It is designed for horizontal air exhaust for CTHx type, for vertical air exhaust for CTVx type. The fan base is made of galvanized steel sheet, the brackets, grille and screws are also electroplated. The fan shroud and casing are made of Al sheet. The fan motor is mounted outside the air flow. The motor ventilation circuit is separate, using its own radial impeller. There is a ventilation joint around the perimeter of the canopy on the CTHx fan, on the CTVx type the motor ventilation is routed out of the side of the casing.
Iris wheel
The fan is radial with backward curved blades. It is made of galvanized steel sheet and is statically and dynamically balanced.
Motor
is asynchronous with shorted resistance armature, stator with cooling fins, black epoxy lacquer finish. Motors are equipped with thermal fuse as standard. The windings are tropicalised with class F insulation and a permanent operating temperature of -40 to +200 ˚C. Grease-filled ball bearings for life. IP55 protection.
Clamps
Accessible by removing the fan canopy, on single phase fans it also contains a start-up capacitor. The protection is IP55.
Speed control
is carried out by changing the voltage by electronic or transformer regulators or frequency converters. Motors marked 400 V can be switched to reduce the speed by means of a Y/Δ switch. (Alternatively, the supplied 230/400 V motors cannot be regulated in this way and can only be operated in Y connection).
Rotation direction
is only possible in one direction, as indicated by the arrow on the fan housing. The opposite direction of rotation may cause motor overload, and the fan will also experience increased noise.
Mounting
The fan is mounted horizontally using the accessories (with the motor axis vertical).
Noise
The noise emitted by the fan is listed in the tables. The LpA values on the performance charts are measured in the free field on the intake side at a distance of 1.5 m.
Instructions
The fans are suitable for chimney draft boosting and general air handling applications.
