Product description
Cabinet

The cabinet is made of extruded polypropylene. The throats are located on the top of the cabinet. The condensate drain is located on the bottom of the unit so that the unit can be mounted horizontally and vertically. Internal parts and inlet throats are made of highly stable polyethylene.

Fans

The fan is a radial fan with backward curved blades on both the supply and extract. The fan electronics are easily accessible for servicing.

Motor

The motor is a high efficiency, low consumption DC EC motor. The supply voltage is 230 V/50 Hz. Protection IP20.

Recuperation

The counter-current plate heat exchanger is plastic, with efficiency ranging from 86 to 90%. For summer operation, the unit is equipped with automatic bypass of the heat exchanger on the exhaust air stream.

Filter

G3 plate filters (ISO coarse 45%) are standard on the fresh air intake and exhaust air intake. No tools are required to remove the filters. Alternatively, G4 or F7 filters can be ordered.

El. connection

A three-core cable leads out of the unit and is terminated with a fork (europlug).

Speed control

The table/graph shows the factory speed setting. These can be adjusted as required. The unit is equipped with 2 potentiometers which can be used to adjust the high and low speed values. The middle speed is the average of the high and low speeds. For the highest speed, the highest speed can be wirelessly adjusted. The time of 10, 20 or 30 minutes can be set on the controller. The wireless controller must be ordered separately.

Temperature control

The unit has a built-in supply air temperature sensor. In winter, at very low outdoor temperatures below -4°C, when there is a risk of the recuperator freezing, the unit controls the fan speed to prevent freezing. If the temperature does not rise above 0 °C within 24 hours, the fan is automatically switched off. If the temperature rises, the fan will automatically switch on.

Noise

The unit is extremely quiet thanks to its special design and the use of an EC motor fan. The acoustic pressure is given in the table.

Mounting

Mounting in vertical and horizontal position. Wall mounted, at least 150 mm above the floor. Clear space is required in front of the unit to allow for removal of filters. For ceiling and floor mounting, the optimum gradient must be maintained to ensure condensate drainage. The condensate drain connection is made via a siphon odour trap to the waste line or rainwater outlet. An installation kit is included in the delivery.

Accessories

- RFT-Akor standard wireless controller
- RFT-D Akor wireless controller with filter clogging indication
- AIRSENS-CO2 intelligent CO2 sensor
- AIRSENS-VOC intelligent air quality sensor
- AIRSENS-RH intelligent relative humidity sensor
- ED Flex System® circular air ducting
- MBE-AFP 125/0,4 active frost protection
- EHR 140 EPP connection spigot set

Instructions

Due to the high efficiency of the heat exchanger, reheating is usually not necessary. In areas where temperatures are often below -5 °C, it is recommended to install a hot-water heat exchanger or an electric air preheater of adequate capacity (e.g. MBE-AFP 125/0.4) for fresh air intake. After basic set-up by the installer, the unit requires no further adjustment. Demands on the user are minimal. Filter replacement is recommended at least once a year. The design of EHR 140 heat recovery units and their use in buildings with gas appliances of category B (gas boilers and open chamber water heaters) or with open hearth appliances burning solid or liquid fuels with flue gas exhaust to the chimney is prohibited. Ventilation must also comply with the building fire safety regulations and must not contravene fire regulations.

Information

Full electronic control allows the performance to be adapted to the exact requirements of the building. The unit is equipped with a counter-current heat exchanger with high heat recovery efficiency (90%). The unit is designed for continuous operation.

Highlights

The EHR 140 Akor heat recovery unit is part of the New Green Savings Programme under the code SVT2732.
